Hi, I’m Heather
Meet Our New Executive Director
Q: What’s your background in a nutshell?
A: I started my career in education—first teaching high school, then moving into adult education and technology training. That sparked my entrepreneurial side, and I grew a small computer training business, learning a lot about running a company along the way. From there, I moved into the corporate world, helping natural gas compression companies design hands-on training programs for their field teams. Those experiences gave me a strong foundation in scaling businesses, workforce development, and relationship-building, which naturally led to my work in economic development here in Southwest Colorado—supporting entrepreneurs, strengthening local companies, and helping our communities thrive.
Q: What drew you to this role?
A: Being in a role that helps teams and companies reach their potential excites me. SCAPE is an organization that has a proven track record for helping companies grow with the support of local investors and provide meaningful impact to the region.
Q: How would you describe your leadership style?
A: Direct, supportive, high expectations
Q: What’s your vision for the organization?
A: Building on the solid foundation of SCAPE to increase the investment expertise and capacity of the organization, in turn expanding the investment opportunities to companies in southwest Colorado.
Q: What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
A: I think El Caminos are the ideal vehicle, but I prefer the classics.
Q: What do you love most about the Four Corners?
A: The seasons and the scenery…it’s like seeing a natural art display every day and it never gets old.
Q: How can the community support you in your new role?
A: Say yes!
